Part One of Two…
At this time Fascinating Womanhood Executive Director Brian Andelin is not authorizing any new Fascinating Womanhoodteachers. Women who are interested in teaching FW are encouraged to do so by leading FW study groups in their homes, churches, or other places in their communities.
There is definitely interest around the U.S., South Africa, and The United Kingdom in FW study groups at this time. There is also interest in other locations around the world, but these three locations are the most commonly, recently heard from.
While there are no set of qualifications that women leading study groups must have other than having read, applied the teachings of, and reached success in living FW, there are a few important things for study group leaders to think about while contemplating leading a group:
1. Marriage is the most intimate, intricate relationship on earth between a man and woman. When leading a group that deals specifically with this relationship, one has to be very, very careful with what she says, does, and encourages. Off-the-cuff remarks or harshly judgemental remarks about one’s husband or marriage by one in a leadership position can cause serious damage or difficulties to someone else’s marriage or more than one marriage, they can also cause the loss of a friendship among the leader and the attendee.
2. Leaders must be trustworthy, dependable, hold confidences sacred, guides, mature, and of the worthy character described in FW.
3. It can be easy when first leading FW study groups to let other women’s marital problems affect one’s own marriage. You will likely hear some sad, heartbreaking, or angering things that bother you. If you speak to your husband about these things, it can lead to a disagreement between the two of you about the situation. On the other hand, you will likely hear many success stories about husbands’ treating their wives’ excellently and wonder “why didn’t my husband react that way?” or something similar, mention it to your husband, and have a disagreement. The key is don’t let others’ problems or successes become your own, but work on your marriage right along with the members of your group.
4. Be devoted. Definitely purchase and use the Fascinating Womanhood Teacher’s Guide and be devoted to leading the entire course. Don’t let yourself and others down by not devoting yourself to the completion of the course. Make the course the best you can make it and let it show from the first lesson to the last.
If you’ve read FW and applied its principles with success, would you consider leading a study group? There is a real need for these teachings.
The Fascinating Womanhood Teacher’s Guide and a workbook for students are both available for less than $20.00 each plus shipping and handling by e-mailing brian(at)pacpresssb(dot)com. Leaders need only one teacher’s guide and each student will need to order her own workbook.
If you have any questions about forming or leading a study group, please feel free to e-mail me (pentucky(at)alaska(dot)net) or comment here or contact Mr. Andelin at the e-mail address above.
